Hi Devotion Group Members!

This week’s Devotion Group meeting was based around the importance of evaluating our lives, making sure we’re giving our best to what matters most, and asking God to help us make good use of the time He’s given us.  During your daily devotions this week, we invite you to join with us as we pray the following:

So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.  Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.  Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. (Ephesians 5:15-17, NLT)

  • Lord, help me to be careful how I live.  I want to make the most out of every opportunity You give me today.

  • Help me to be sensitive to Your will and obedient to the things You ask me to do.

  • I ask You for wisdom in every situation I will face this day.  I need Your guidance.  Today, I choose not to lean on my own understanding.  I acknowledge that Your ways are always best, and I trust that You will direct my paths.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.  Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. (Galatians 6:9-10, NLT)

  • Lord, I pray for the strength I need to keep the faith, to keep doing what’s right and to keep pursuing a deeper relationship with You.

  • You know every battle I face that leaves me feeling empty and discouraged.  Today, I surrender those things to You.  Your word says that You will give perfect peace to those who keep their minds on You.  Help me to think more about my Savior than my struggles today.  I will reap a harvest of blessing as long as I don’t give up.

  • Speak to me during this time of prayer about ways I can bless others today, especially those that follow You.  Who can I help today?  Who can I encourage?  How do you want to use me today?

"Even now," declares the LORD, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting… (Joel 2:12, NIV)

  • God, as we begin our fast, I ask You to speak to each person in my Devotion Group.  Give clear direction where it's needed, break chains, tear down strongholds, build our faith and increase our love for You and one another.

  • Let this be a time when we draw closer to You and surrender more completely to Your will.

  • Help me to deny the flesh so I can walk in the Spirit.

  • Strengthen me in times of testing so that I’m able to complete the fast You’ve called me to, and let my life be forever changed by the things You do in me during this time.

During the month of January, we’ll be launching Devotion Groups.
