Senior Pastor Jason & Tiffany Forbush

Pastor Jason's passion for the people of this great city began at an early age when his dad moved the family to Richmond to start PORVA.  He has served in many different capacities since he began full-time ministry at PORVA in 1999... Student Pastor, Administrative Pastor and as of January 2023, our Senior Pastor. His illustrated sermons are greatly impacting to all ages. His ability to connect with others makes him approachable and real.

Since their marriage in 2006, Sis. Tiffany has diligently served by his side in many different areas. Her desire to be a light is evident in ministries she's involved with like our Community Kidz which helps nurture and mentor underprivileged children.  Pastor Jason & Sis. Tiffany have one son of their own, London, who greatly is loved by all who know him!

Dedicated and driven to make a difference, Pastor Jason and Sis. Tiffany are an incredible duo that unselfishly give to our church family year after year. They are committed to impacting our RVA community and reaching our world for Jesus Christ.

PORVA FOUNDERS, BISHOP JOE & JO FORBUSH

In 1988, they brought their family to Richmond to begin making their God-given dreams a reality. They came to this city with a tremendous desire and a deep passion to help minister to those in need and to help them develop a deep relationship with Jesus Christ. Together, they started The Pentecostals of Richmond (PORVA).

For over 34 years, Bishop & Sis. Forbush have poured their hearts and souls into the people of this city... loving them, serving them, teaching them the Word and helping people find healing and salvation. Under their apostolic ministry, countless lives have been eternally affected and we are forever grateful.

In January 2023, Bishop Forbush moved to the roll of Bishop as he handed the pastoral baton to his son, Pastor Jason. PORVA deeply loves and honors this dynamic couple for their faithful dedication and unselfish love to our church family.

Our Beliefs

At PORVA, we desire to be a 21st Century Apostolic Church.  We are founded upon the belief that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God.  We believe in miracles, healing and the new birth experience.

We believe there is only one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4).  He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings.  He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit).

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. Through baptism, we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  (Romans 6:3-6, Colossians 2:11-14, Acts 2:38)

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues. (Acts 2:4)

We believe in the great commission and are endeavoring to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with love, mercy and compassion.

Our Mission & Vision

Making a Difference by...

Loving God

Building a relationship with God is our first priority at The Pentecostals, and our worship services are the perfect place to start doing just that. As a culturally diverse congregation, we come together weekly to express our love for God in a Spirit filled, contemporary worship environment. Whether we are just starting our Christian journey or we are seasoned in our relationship with Jesus Christ, we seek to express our faith and devotion along with other believers.

ACTION POINT: EXPRESSING OUR LOVE FOR GOD AT WEEKLY WORSHIP SERVICES.

Creating Community

Our Small Groups are prime opportunities for us to develop meaningful friendships within our church family as we grow in faith through the study of God’s Word. These home groups provide comfortable and safe settings for us to build authentic relationships with people who have the same goal - to better know and serve Jesus Christ.  As we learn and share in interactive Bible studies, we are encouraged to live out the truths that we discover.

ACTION POINT: CONNECT WITH OTHERS IN A SMALL GROUP.

Growing in Truth

We understand that becoming a better Christian requires a mix of education and action. We believe that God has a specific purpose for each individual to discover and respond to. It’s our goal to empower, equip, and encourage believers as they take the next step in their journey towards becoming more like Jesus.

ACTION POINT: CONTINUE OUR GROWTH AND SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT THROUGH EDUCATION.

Serving our World

As we take our devotion to God a step farther, we demonstrate our love by serving others. We understand that our families, neighborhoods, and workplaces are our 24/7 mission field. It’s our goal to share the gospel by supporting missionaries and planting churches at home and abroad. As we continue to serve the Richmond community, we are also committed to using our talents and gifts to help our world reach heaven.

ACTION POINT: DISCOVER OUR GOD-GIVEN GIFTS AND USE THEM TO SERVE OTHERS.
