The Gift of giving

The gift of Giving is about seeing a need and joyfully meeting it—whether through money, time, resources, or skills. Here are practical ways to activate this gift:

1. Generosity with Time
  • Some people need help more than money.
  • Your willingness to give your time—whether through helping someone move, running errands for an elderly neighbor, or watching a friend’s kids—can be just as valuable as financial giving.

👉 How to Start: If you see someone overwhelmed, ask, “What can I do to help?” Even a few hours of your time can make a huge difference.

2. Covering Someone’s Meal, Coffee, or Gas
  • A small act of generosity can go a long way in brightening someone’s day and reminding them that God provides.

👉 How to Start: Next time you’re out, secretly pay for someone’s meal, coffee, or gas. Or, if you know someone who’s struggling, find an anonymous way to give them a gas card or cover their groceries.

3. Sponsoring Someone’s Growth
  • Many people long to grow in their faith or skills but can’t afford the opportunity. If you have the means, you can be the person who opens doors for them.

👉 How to Start: Pay for someone’s conference ticket, class, Bible study materials, or leadership training. If you believe in someone’s calling or potential, invest in their future.

4. Investing in the Church’s Mission
  • Churches and ministries run on generosity—whether it’s funding missions, building projects, or community outreach.

👉 How to Start: Ask yourself: What could I give to expand God’s kingdom? Whether it’s giving financially, donating supplies, or funding a specific need, your generosity makes ministry possible.
