Passage
“Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. So he went to the high priest. He requested letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus, asking for their cooperation in the arrest of any followers of the Way he found there. He wanted to bring them—both men and women—back to Jerusalem in chains. As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?” “Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” The men with Saul stood speechless, for they heard the sound of someone’s voice but saw no one! Saul picked himself up off the ground, but when he opened his eyes he was blind. So his companions led him by the hand to Damascus. He remained there blind for three days and did not eat or drink.”

Devotion
Alright PORVA… here we go! We’re stepping into 30 Days of Transformation together. For the next month, we’re going to see how God changes lives, starting with ours.
Today’s passage is about one of the most dramatic transformations in the Bible: Saul, the church’s biggest enemy, meeting Jesus face-to-face. In one moment, his mission flipped completely. The persecutor became a preacher.
His entire identity and purpose were rewritten. That’s what Jesus does! He doesn’t just improve who we are, He changes who we are. As we begin this journey, remember: the same God who transformed Saul can transform anything in your life.

Intercession for Others
Making Space for God to Speak
- “Jesus, You are the One who changes lives completely. You are the Light that breaks through darkness, the Voice that calls us by name, and the Lord who gives us a new direction. I praise You today for Your power to transform me from the inside out!”
Confession & Surrender
- Tell Jesus about any area where you’ve been resisting His change in your life.
- Be honest about habits, attitudes, or thought patterns you’ve held onto.
- Invite Him to interrupt your plans, like He interrupted Saul’s, if they aren’t His will for you.
Asking for Transformation
- “Lord, I want my life’s mission to be shaped by Your voice, not my own agenda. Open my eyes to see the areas where You are calling me to change. Give me the courage to follow You, even if it means completely changing direction.”
Intercession for Others
- Pray for someone you know who seems far from God or even opposed to Him.
- Ask God to meet them in an undeniable way, just like He met Saul.
- Pray for God’s love and truth to break through the hardest hearts.
Making Space for God to Speak
- Sit quietly for 2-3 minutes.
- Picture yourself on the road to Damascus… suddenly stopped in your tracks by Jesus.
- Imagine His voice calling you by name and asking, “Why are you…” (fill in with whatever distraction, pursuit, or fear He may be addressing in you).
- Listen inwardly for what He might say next.
- Let His words settle into your spirit before you respond.
