  • Many of the worship songs we sing each Sunday contain powerful, Scripturally-based prayers and praise.  During today’s worship segment, we’ll be praying some of the lyrics we sing in church on Sundays!  
    • "Great is Thy faithfulness. Morning by morning, new mercies I see. All I have needed, Thy hand hath provided. Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.”

  • Lord, I turn to You today and ask that You would forgive my sins. 
  • I repent for every ungodly action I’ve committed, whether it was knowingly or unknowingly. 
  • Right now I choose to turn away from paths of destruction. I’m choosing to follow You in the way of righteousness. 
  • Help me to resist temptation and have the wisdom to know what is not of You. 
  • I receive the mercy you are offering me. Thank You that by Your blood, I am washed clean. I trust that turning away from my sin will lead to true refreshment in You.

  • God, thank You for the freedom that comes from You. I am no longer a slave to sin! I receive Your grace now and believe that I can overcome destructive habits and cycles.
  • Lord, break the chains of ungodly habits that bind me. Strengthen me to stand firm in the freedom You have provided.
"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us fearful, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline."

  • God, break the cycle of fear and anxiety in my life. In times of doubt, remind me that You are in control of all things. Replace my poor mindsets with thoughts of purity and holiness. 
  • For Your Word says, “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” (Philippians 4:8)

  • Lord, break the cycle of procrastination and laziness within me. Inspire me to approach every task with diligence. Remind me that the time You have given me here on earth is a gift and to use it well.
  • Lord, transform me through Your grace. I declare freedom from destructive cycles and I will walk in the new, godly habits You have placed in my heart. 
Just as You used God's Word to resist temptations here on earth, help me combat my challenges with the strength of Scripture.
  • I speak The Word of the Lord to the temptation toward anger:  "I will be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger doesn't lead to the goodness God desires." (James 1:19, personalized)
    • God, grant me patience and understanding. Help me to be slow to offense and quick to believe the best about others. I want my actions to lead to the goodness You desire.

  • I speak the Word of the Lord to the temptation towards selfish ambition: "Envy and selfish ambition lead to disorder and every evil practice." (James 3:16)
    • God, guard my heart from selfish desires. I want to live a life that is a reflection of Your character. Help me to have a heart of humility and to resist thinking of myself above others. 

  • I speak the Word of The Lord to the temptation towards idolatry: "I will worship the Lord my God, and Him only will I serve." (Luke 4:8, personalized)
    • God, I commit my worship to You alone. Help me recognize when I am placing people, possessions, or any other thing above You in my heart. You are the one true and living God who is worthy of every praise.  

  • I speak the Word of The Lord to the temptation towards doubt: "Everything is possible for the one who believes." (Mark 9:23 NIV)
    • Lord, I believe that with You, nothing is impossible. Remind me in times of waiting that You are a promise-keeper. I trust that You see me. Your ways are higher than my ways and I believe what You say is true. 

  • I speak The Word of The Lord to the temptation towards gossip: "I won't let any unwholesome talk come out of my mouth. I'll speak what builds others up, benefiting those who listen." (Ephesians 4:29 NIV, personalized)
    • Jesus, guide what comes out of my mouth. I know that, “the tongue has the power of life and death…” (Proverbs 18:21) I commit to speaking encouraging words and avoiding gossip. 
"I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."

  • God, I surrender my circumstances to You. In every season, give me the strength to be content. I can make it through good times and the bad because through You, I can do all things.  
"Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'"

  • Thank you for the reminder that I can depend on You. I pray for the strength to be content with what You have blessed me with, instead of constantly seeking more.  
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

  • Help me to remain in a spirit of thanksgiving. In all circumstances, remind me that Your perfect will is a work in my life.
Thank You for hearing my prayers and allowing me to feel Your presence today.
  • Thank You for going before me, being with me and never forsaking me. (Deuteronomy 31:8)
  • I give this day to You.   I ask You to order my steps, and use me to be a blessing to others.
