Note: Feel free to pray the Scriptures as well as the prayer points under each.  Remember that it’s important to pray both the Scriptures and prayer points out loud.
Psalm 147:1 (NIV): "Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to You, God, how pleasant and fitting to praise You!" (personalized)
Many of the worship songs we sing each Sunday contain powerful, Scripturally-based prayers and praise.  During today’s worship segment, we’ll be praying some of the lyrics we sing in church!

  • “I can see a cloud heavy with rain and it looks like salvation is headed our way! I can hear a sound, the abundance of rain and it sounds like freedom is headed our way! I can see a cloud heavy with rain and it looks like revival is headed our way!”
  • “...And if He told the bones ‘come alive’ and they did, He will again. And if He told the stone ‘roll away’ and it did, He will again. And if He told the grave ‘let him go’ and it did, He will again… miracle after miracle, open door after open door, here it comes so get ready for another one. ‘Cause another one is on the way!”
  • “Onward to the prize before us. Soon His beauty we’ll behold. Soon the pearly gates will open. We will walk on streets of gold! I can see the light coming, and I can see the day dawning. When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be!”
Because of Your great love I am not consumed, for Your compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23, personalized).
  • Thank you that by Your love and mercy, I can be forgiven. Your compassion never fails and you are faithful to me.
  • I humble myself before You, and ask for forgiveness for every word, thought, and action I’ve committed that broke Your commandments and displeased You. I want my life to be reflective of You.
  • Forgive me for the things I should have done but did not do, and for every instance when I knew what was right but failed to act on that knowledge. Give me the strength to act in righteousness and integrity.
Psalm 51:12 (NIV): "Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me."
  • I thank You for the promise of restoration. Please bring back the joy of my salvation and fill my heart with the peace that only You can provide. I want to experience the fullness of life that comes from being in right standing with You.
  • God, I ask for a willing spirit to sustain me in my journey of faith. Give me the strength to follow Your ways and resist sin. Thank You for restoring me and for the new beginnings You offer. Because of You, I don’t have to live in condemnation and shame.
“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence. I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.” (2nd Samuel 22:2-4)
  • God, I pray over myself and my church family as we prepare to start the week. Be a covering over us as we go throughout this week.
    • I pray for physical and spiritual protection for myself and our church family.
    • Guard our mouths to be a witness for You in the way we speak.
    • Protect us from influences that might tempt us to compromise our Christian standards.
    • Grant opportunities to reach the lost in our workplaces and schools, leading us into conversations with those hungry for You.
Thank You for hearing my prayers and allowing me to feel Your presence today.
  • Thank You for going before me, being with me and never forsaking me. (Deuteronomy 31:8)
  • I give this day to You.   I ask You to order my steps, and use me to be a blessing to others.
  • In Jesus’ name, amen!
