Note: Feel free to pray the Scriptures as well as the prayer points under each.  Remember that it’s important to pray both the Scriptures and prayer points out loud.
Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.
(Psalms 95:6)
  • Many of the worship songs we sing each Sunday contain powerful, Scripturally-based prayers and praise.  During today’s worship segment, we’ll be praying some of the lyrics we sing in church on Sundays!

    • “I’m not here for blessings. Jesus, You don’t owe me anything. More than anything that You can do, I just want You. Nothing else will do. I just want You.”
    • “As long as I’m breathing, I’ve got a reason to praise the Lord. Oh, my soul. I won’t be quiet, my God is alive. So, how could I keep it inside? Praise the Lord. Oh, my soul.”
    • “Shout Jesus from the mountains and Jesus in the street. Jesus in the darkness over every enemy. Jesus for my family. I speak the holy name, Jesus.”
    • “May His favor be upon me. And a thousand generations. And my family. And their children. May His presence go before me. And a thousand generations. And my family. And their children.”
    • “You reign above it all. You reign above it all. Over the universe and over every heart. There is no higher name. Jesus, You reign, above it all. Let all of heaven and the earth erupt in song. Sing hallelujah to the Everlasting One. There is no higher name.”
    • “Christ is my firm foundation. The rock on which I stand. When everything around me is shaken, I’ve never been more glad that I put my faith in Jesus, ‘cause He’s never let me down. He’s faithful through generations. So, why would He fail now? He won’t.”
    • “He picked me up. He turned me around. He placed my feet on solid ground. I thank the Master. I thank the Savior. Because He healed my heart. He changed my name. Forever free, I’m not the same. I thank the Master. I thank the Savior. I thank God.”
Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!
(Psalm 139:23-24, ESV, personalized)
  • Lord, You know all things. There is nothing that I can hide from You. Because of my flesh, there are sometimes things within me that are not like You, that I overlook.
  • I ask that You would search my heart today. Show me anything that is ungodly within me. Show me any habits I have that make you unhappy. Show me any behaviors I have that go against what You’ve called me to.
  • If there’s any rebellion to Your Word and leadership within me, remove it.
  • If there’s any unforgiveness within me, remove it.
  • If there’s any bitterness within me, remove it.
  • If there’s any jealousy within me, remove it.
  • If there’s any lust within me, remove it.
  • If there’s any deception within me, remove it.
  • If there’s anything within my spirit that is not like You, Lord, remove it. I don’t want to live a sinful life anymore. Please show me things that I can do better so that I may be a godly example to those around me.
  • As I surrender my thoughts and actions to You, please guide me in Your righteousness. I truly take time now to say that I am sorry. I ask that You help me to turn completely away from my sins and walk in Your goodness.
Jesus, just as You used the Word to respond to temptation, empower me to combat the temptations of my flesh, with Your Word.
  • For we don’t dare classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. But in measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves to themselves, they lack understanding.” (2 Corinthians 10:12, CSB)
    • I speak Your Word to the temptation of comparison. God, instead of measuring myself against others, I will only compare myself with Your Word and Your standards. I understand that we are each, “...fearfully and wonderfully made…” (Psalms 139:14, KJV)

  • "Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand." (Romans 14:4, ESV)
    • I speak Your Word to the temptation of judgment. Help me to avoid condemnation of others, knowing that it is in You, Lord, that we each have freedom. Instead of judging, help me to replace those thoughts with understanding and compassion.

  • "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body." (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, ESV)
    • I speak Your Word to the temptation of substance abuse and gluttony. I commit to honoring You by treating my body as the temple of the Holy Spirit You designed it to be.

  • "Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who act faithfully are his delight." (Proverbs 12:22, ESV)
    • I speak Your Word to the temptation of dishonesty. Lord, guide me in truth and integrity. I want You to find delight in my actions. I ask that You purify my heart, so that what flows from my mouth will also be pure.
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what You have prepared for those who love You."
(1 Corinthians 2:9, ESV)
  • God, I believe You have incredible plans for my life. Your great power exceeds my imagination, and I look forward to the positive changes You will bring to my life.
"How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world."
(Psalm 31:19, NLT)
  • I receive the goodness You’ve stored up for me. I ask that Your blessings overflow into every aspect of my life, including in my daily mindsets, actions and habits. Protect my thoughts from any attack of the enemy that would lead me into destructive patterns.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
(Philippians 4:13, NKJV)
  • Through Your strength:
    • I can transform my patterns positively.
    • I can break free from unhealthy cycles.
    • I can establish new and Godly habits.
    • I can accomplish the tasks set before me.
    • I can navigate change with confidence.
"May Your kingdom come. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
(Matthew 6:10, NKJV)
  • God, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done here on earth, as it is in heaven. Let Your will be done, in my life as it is in heaven. Let Your will be done in my job as it is in heaven. Let Your will be done in my relationships as it is in heaven.
  • Give me a deeper desire for Your plan. Help me to remember that this world is not my home and as I await getting to heaven with You, give me a yearning to see Your kingdom on earth more and more each day
"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come." (Matthew 24:14, NKJV)
  • Lord, let the message of salvation reach every corner of this world. Draw people to You, so that they can be saved. I pray against the schemes of the enemy that would try to prevent the spread of Your Word.
  • I pray now for Pastors, Evangelists, and Missionaries that are preaching Your Word to Your people. Protect them and equip them to share the gospel.
"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."
(Colossians 3:2, NIV)
  • Help me to set my thoughts on heavenly things instead of getting caught up in the worries of my life. Give me a mind focused on what truly matters: loving You and being a disciple to others.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
(Matthew 28:19, NIV)
  • Lord, use me to help expand Your Kingdom. Give me the confidence to speak to others about You and share my testimony with them. Help me to pour into others the same way I have been poured into.
  • I ask that You would go before me and use me to be a light to every person I come in contact with today.
Thank You for hearing my prayers and allowing me to feel Your presence today.
  • Thank You for going before me, being with me and never forsaking me. (Deuteronomy 31:8)
  • I give this day to You.   I ask You to order my steps, and use me to be a blessing to others.
  • In Jesus’ name, amen!
